Description

Jearld Moldenhauer has been a key player in the creation of the gay movement in Canada. Over the years, he has participated in a multitude of activist organizations, such as the Body Politic, Community Homophile Association of Toronto, Toronto Gay Action, Gay Alliance Toward Equality, as well as being a founding member of the University of Toronto Homophile Association. From selling books and magazines out of his backpack to establishing the Glad Day Bookshop in 1970, Moldenhauer has fought for the accessibility of gay literature and has been a proud advocate for the freedom of speech.
